Questions about ClearBra
USA VentureShield® Paint Protection
What is
VentureShield?
VentureShield® Ultra is the toughest chip
protection film on the market. Combining excellent elastic
properties and optical clarity with a high shear and tack
adhesive, VentureShield is highly resistant to the day-to-day
abuse coming from stones and road debris. Ultra now has an
integral top coating which resists dirt and soil even better
than before, staying completely clear, even on white cars!
Can I install this myself, or do
I need to hire someone to do it?
Most enthusiasts will have no problems
installing paint protection kits. In general, you
can install a paint protection kit if:
-
You
can watch an installation instruction video and follow
the step-by-step instructions shown. If you
haven't done it before, we suggest you watch the video a
couple of times before starting.
-
You
understand the concepts of installing a kit.
You'll be taking a flat piece of very flexible and
stretchable material, and making it conform to the contours
of the vehicle. Kits are cut to make the installation
as easy and straight-forward as
possible.
-
You
have the physical agility and manual dexterity to work
on and around your vehicle. Installation
requires the use of both hands, good eyesight and the
ability to get close enough to the work surface to ensure a
smooth fit. If you don't have a lift or ramps, you may
need to lie on the floor to install bumper
kits.
All sales are final and kits are
not returnable. If you have doubts about your ability to
do the installation, contact a qualified installer.
What is the difference between
"WRAP" and "NO WRAP" kits?
NO WRAP kits are easier for
the enthusiast to install - they are intended to lay on the
surfaces, but not roll over the edges. WRAP
kits are approximately 1/2 inch larger in all dimensions,
providing extra material so it can be rolled over the edges
and secured underneath. This gives better protection,
particularly along the leading edge of the hood, but is more
difficult and time consuming to install.
Can VentureShield be washed and
waxed?
Yes, you may wash and wax your car as if it
were not present. In fact, we suggest you do wax the
VentureShield protective layer just the same as the rest of
the car, to ensure against uneven fading of your car's paint.
Why is it needed now? My Dad's car didn't need it.
1. Paints are different now than 20 years ago,
and they are applied differently. Many of the environmentally
unfriendly ingredients, such as lead, have been removed.
Unfortunately, these ingredients are also what made paint more
durable. Also, paints are applied much thinner now than in
years past, being applied by computers. While this allows for
greater initial quality, the thinner paint is far less
durable
2. Chrome-plated metal parts have disappeared. Where bright
trim IS used, it is virtually always electro-plated plastic,
which is vulnerable to stone chip damage.
3. Headlights, formerly made of heavy, durable glass, are
almost universally made of lightweight, super-clear plastic.
While they are highly impact resistant, they are vulnerable to
rock dings, scratches and scuffs from everyday driving
Is there any special care required for
VentureShield®?
No! The only thing you need to do is wash and
wax the car normally, using any good brand of automotive wash
and wax.
What does the warranty cover?
The manufacturer's lifetime warranty is against
yellowing, bubbling or cracking. These are the things you need
to think about when using a plastic product out of doors.
How does VentureShield ®
compare to similar products?
VentureShield® is distinctly smoother, clearer
and stronger than other film products. For example,
VentureShield is more puncture resistant, making it much
better at deflecting rocks and road debris, without damage to
your paint. Combined with the progressive technology top
layer, it will last for years without loss of appearance,
yellowing, etc., caused when other top coats fail.
Why do I need this?
With the gleaming finish of the paint intact,
your automobile will retain more value at trade-in time!
Additionally, you'll enjoy the beauty of the original finish
while being able to drive and enjoy the car, year round, year
after year. Don't let the slow degradation of your auto's
appearance diminish your pride of ownership!
Will it diminish or alter the appearance of my car?
Your ClearBra will protect your car for years
and remain virtually invisible. In fact, from 5 feet away,
most people will never even know there is anything on the car!
And, yet, you'll have the finest paint protection film
available in place, with a lifetime manufacturers warranty
against yellowing, bubbling or cracking from UV exposure.
Can VentureShield® be
used to protect headlights?
Due to the extreme optical clarity of
VentureShield, it will not diminish light transmission from
your headlights, while providing 100% protection.
Today's polycarbonate headlight lenses often discolor and turn
hazy due to the effects of UV damage and road
contaminants. Protected lenses remain clear.
How long should I wait to
install VentureShield® after painting the car?
"The guy at the body shop said I need
to wait a month. Is this true?" Unfortunately, there
is no definitive answer for this one. The guy at the body shop
is trying to cover himself by insisting on a month to allow
the paint to cure. However, we frequently install
VentureShield over repairs that are only one or two days out
of the paint shop, AT THE BODY
SHOPS, with no ill effects. VentureShield is
'gas permeable', meaning that the paint can continue to
out-gas and cure without any adverse effects. Our position is
that if the paint is properly applied, baked and road-worthy,
the installation can proceed immediately. However, because we
have no control over how the prep work is done, how well the
paint is applied, if and/or how long the paint is baked, etc.,
we cannot be liable for paint that lifts or might otherwise be
damaged during the course of installation or removal.
